The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Hunterdon County (FSSP) is a 501(c)3 charitable organization of Irish-American heritage, intent on promoting, embracing and enjoying Irish-American culture. Founded in 2008, the FSSP raises and distributes funds to families affected by medical bills, assists children with disabilities and supports Non-Profit Organizations that benefit people in need, while positively promoting Irish-American culture.

The Hunterdon County chapter of the FSSP was founded in 2008 by 12 gentlemen bound together through their daughters’ love of traditional Irish dance. By spending many weekends together they realized they shared a kindred spirit based on their shared Irish roots and desire to have a positive impact in the Hunterdon County communities where they all lived. With assistance from the Morris County FSSP chapter, the FSSP Hunterdon County was formed in spring of 2008 with these core 12 brothers, but soon grew as word got out about the charitable and cultural mission of the organization. 501(c)3 charitable status was achieved soon after and the FSSP was on its way.

In September of 2008, the FSSP hosted their First Annual FSSP Golf Outing at Beaverbrook Country Club in Annandale, NJ. Now in its 16th year, the Golf Outing and other fundraising efforts, thanks to the generosity of our longtime sponsors and patrons, have enabled the FSSP to raise and distribute more than $425,000 across Hunterdon County. This has allowed the FSSP to continue its important work in the Hunterdon County community helping the less fortunate and children and families facing devastating illness or challenging personal situations. An entirely voluntary organization, 100% of the monies raised by the FSSP go toward supporting our charitable endeavors.

2014 saw the first hosting of the FSSP St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Clinton, NJ. Every year the Parade is the largest single-day cultural event on the Clinton calendar and brings together thousands of spectators to see the many bands and marching groups that celebrate Irish heritage. In 2023 the FSSP held its 8th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade (two years were lost to the COVID pandemic in 2020 and 2021) which was followed by the now traditional St. Patrick’s Parade After Party held at the Red Mill Museum Village and was attended by over 800 revelers.

The FSSP now has more than 100 members from all across Hunterdon County and always welcomes new members.
Monthly meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Clinton Elks, 211 Sidney Rd, Pittstown, NJ 08867 at 7:30 PM.
